revamping & redirecting

It’s been a while since Design IV, but I’ve decided not to abandon the blog ship all together.  So here’s to nothing.  Third time’s a charm, right?

Seasonal Postcards

Perfect for sending a quick little note, these postcards can be used any time of the year.  With fun seasonal designs they are appropriate for just about anyone!  All that is needed is a pair of scissors and a glue stick.  Just cut along the dotted lines, fold in half, glue it in place, and it is ready to send!

paper playne store

The aim of Paper Playne (in addition to sharing design inspiration through their blog) is to provide people with digital art.  Their target audience is the “busy person who desires to be creative”.  They sell stationary, gift tags, greeting cards, prints, and decorations.  These products come in a digital format that the consumer can print off on their own.  All their products are “ready made, but still allow for that special hand-made touch”.

paper playne

Paper Playne was started by Daniel Kiyoi (a Gordon grad) & Craig Kaneko.  A large part of their site is their blog.  They share a range of design related things.  Fashion tips, apartment ideas, seasonal trends, photography & art are all things they post about.  Their posts are geared towards the female design savvy individuals of today’s day and age. Much of their inspiration comes from Anthropologie & Etsy.

Take Two.

paused.

Over the years (and especially the past few months) I have learned to truly appreciate traveling.  I used to see airports as daunting places filled with stress and discontentment, but this is no longer the case.  There is something about traveling, specifically flying, that gives me the feeling to being suspended in time, being neither here nor there.  I see it as a time to think, reflect, and be freed of worries and obligations.  It’s a time that I have come to value immensely.

I created this pattern with these thoughts in mind.  I have used images of planes, clouds, and luggage tags to represent travel.  To represent the idea of time I have used numbers, pocket watches, and hourglasses.  The response I hope to get from this design is the realization that beauty can be found in something as ordinary as traveling.
